New Political Map

Growing up, I have been taught through the "mainstream" media that the political map is divided between left and right. On that scale is Republicans on the far right, Democrats on the far left, and Independents who can go either way, usually situated in the middle.
The more I looked at my own values, and my own views, I found that I was both on the far right and in the middle at the same time. If that is true, then the political map has to be wrong if that kind of inconsistency exists. Finally I came up with a new map that shows where your views and and values can accurately be shown.

The Constitution spells out what freedoms we have that cannot be taken away or given away. It also spells out what the federal government can and cannot do. The more you believe in person freedom and liberty, the further left on the scale, and the more you enjoy the government dictating your every move and every choice in life, the further right on the scale you will be placed. So while we are told over and over that there is this huge divide between all of us whether we are right wing or left wing, we all have a lot more in common.
This is the real political map where the Democratic Party and the Republican party both push for tyranny on all of us, whether it is economic tyranny, eroding our civil liberties through the Patriot Act, or putting us further into debt by going to unnecessary wars. Instead, the individual Republic and Democrat are on the other side together when they do not even know it. They may not agree on all issues, but they both agree on freedom. One may like the freedom to bear arms, the other may like the freedom of speech, while the independent likes the freedom to use hemp in clothing. The point is not which freedoms each person wants, but how many freedoms each person wants.

We are not so alone in this world, and there are plenty of other people who want the same freedoms that you want. When you depart from this false left-right paradigm, you will see that people like Ron Paul, who speaks of personal liberty and states' rights, appeal to a wide range of people including Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. Ron Paul follows the teachings of our founding fathers, and as long as you can accept another person as a free thinking individual as yourself, you are together in the fight against tyranny.
