Why RollPlay Shows Are Terrible Now

Recently, I have dropped watching all of RollPlay shows. I no longer cared what happened regardless of who was GMing, the cast, the setting, or the system. I still watch all of Koibu's roleplay shows that run Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition, so I chucked it up to my preference for that system. However, while watching a recent episode of Office Hours, I came to the revelation why RollPlay shows are nowhere on the level they used to be.

Order of the White Rose (Swan Song Short Story)

Here is a short story I wrote based on the RollPlay show Swan Song. This takes place during the merger of Ximinez Shipyards and Sunbeam Multistellar Corporation. Enjoy!

DnD Lyrics (T.N.T. AC/DC Parody)

DnD is a parody of AC/DC's song T.N.T. about playing Dungeons and Dragons online for everyone to watch. Some of the lyrics were inspired by events in the beginning of the recent season of RollPlay Solum. Enjoy!

Let it Roll (Let it Go Parody) Lyrics

Here are the lyrics for another parody song, "Let it Roll." It tells the tale of a 1st level Fighter who tries to clear out a dungeon for a kingdom in need, only to face a dragon who fells the warrior. It is a parody of the Frozen song "Let it Go." The song was inspired by all the times a player on RollPlay or Misscliks DnD said "YOLO!" and let the dice fall where they may.

I'm a brand new fighter in this big world
Not a scarred limb can be seen
A kingdom in need of my help
And it looks like I'm not green

Roleplay (Happy Parody)

Here are lyrics for the song "Roleplay", a parody of Pharrell Williams' "Happy." Many of the lines in the song are inspired by the shows RollPlay Solum, and Misscliks D&D.

[Verse 1:]
It might seem crazy what I’m about to say
My best bet is to roll a twenty
When the DM says we're surrounded by ghouls
Magic and swords are my favorite kinds of tools

RollPlay Hearthstone Cards

After the cards I made for Misscliks D&D (as well as some extras in the Misscliks Patch v1.1), here is another list of card designs for Hearthstone based on the two seasons of RollPlay Solum. You too can create your own Hearthstone card designs at HearthCards.

Patch v1.1
Tudagub has been changed from 6 mana to 7. Text now reads as "Put Cracked Orb in your hand. Deathrattle: Until the end of your turn, friendly minions gain +2 attack."

Cracked Orb has been changed to a Priest spell and is now a Legendary spell. Text now reads as "If Tudagub is on the battlefield, discard your opponent's hand."

Vincent Longborn now costs 9 mana up from 4. His Health is now 6, down from 9.

Bregor has been changed to 9 mana cost, up from 5, and Health is now 8, up from 6.

Azril Goldoath now costs 3 mana, up from 2.

Victarian Black now costs 10 mana, up from 9.

Alice now costs 6 mana, up from 4.

Zanzil's battlecry has changed. It now reads "Battlecry: Transform another random minion into a 6/6 Lammasu or a 1/1 Duck."

The minion Lammasu has been added.

The minion Duck has been added.

RollPlay Acrostic Poems

RollPlay is a show on YouTube that features people from e-sports who play Dungeons and Dragons. Here are some acrostic poems about the characters they play.

Geneviève Forget
All she wants is a small ferret to pet
But maybe line her pockets with much gold
Inside her pouch is all that she has found
Gathered from adventures across the land
Afraid perhaps of making a single sound
Everywhere she searches for one to hold
Love is the treasure she will one day get

YouTube Review: RollPlay & Misscliks

I have been playing Palladium Fantasy on and off for the last ten years or so. Over the time, I have changed both as a player and a game master (GM). Through TotalBiscuit on YouTube, I came across JP McDaniel's RollPlay series. In it, JP McDaniel, Ryan Moore, Geoff Robinson, and Geneviève Forget play Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition with their Dungeon Master, Neal Erickson. With only webcams and a screen showing the Roll20.net's map and dice rolling features, they are able to offer hours upon hours of entertainment full of gut-wrenching laughter, and all the feels the Internet has to offer.
