My final semester of college is almost to an end, and with it gives me much more free time to focus on my writing. I have a number of novels and some short stories already started, with some fresh ideas on those plus ideas for other novels or short stories. I will not give away too much, but here is a sneak peak at what I will be working on.
Beginning with the work I have already started, There is Anointed Ones, about a super human who finds himself aboard a ship with aliens or angels, he's not sure. What he does know is something doesn't feel right, and he's only got a short time before their ship makes the loop back to Earth.
Second is Two Lives about a man who feels oppressed by society and depressed about his lot in life and runs away. He joins a fisherman and his daughter as they travel the world catching exotic fish and selling them. After living a simple life, he must make the decision to tell the truth and go back to his old life, or continue the one filled with freedom and happiness.
I have an unnamed science fiction novel about a normal guy getting by in the space salvage business who finds a girl in stasis. Suddenly the entire Galactic Imperium is after him, and they want him dead. They run all across the galaxy to find clues to why he is being chased and find out about her past.
I have a young adult/children's novel called A Girl Named Orca, about a young scientist, trying to prove a theory, turns a killer whale into a human. Through their interactions, he learns more about himself than he ever planned to learn about her.
Another unnamed science fiction novel is about a guy named Trevor just trying to get by the conditions of his grandfather's will that requires him to work in the mail room for a few years. He suffers from insomnia, and his best friend suggests that they try out the Dream experience: a world created by a computer that lets you control the setting and environment that your dream takes place in. Inside he meets a woman, Artificial Neural Net Entity (A.N.N.E.). She is being threatened to be deleted and its up to Trevor to find a way to rescue her.
An unnamed superhero novel is about a kid who is about to finish highschool when he is involved in an accident. A truck loaded with a chemical produced at a large company crashes into a power relay station. He soon finds that he has the ability to manipulate all forms of electricity. He decides to go to the Cruiser City to fight crime, but he gets in over his head with the level of corruption in the city.
An unnamed supernatural novel is about a guy who can "see" evil. He uses his ability to track down demons who have invested people's bodies after they have passed on. During an assignment, he saves a teenager from one of these demons. To his surprise, she has the ability too, and maybe more. It may take both of them to fight off what the demons are prophesying to come.
Yet another unnamed science fiction novel, this one about a couple friends running around a ship in space stumble onto an area they are not allowed. Now they must decide whether the truth is worth possibly destroying everyone's way of life, or giving them freedom.
Possibly a novel or a series of short stories, the story is about a group of strangers who find themselves shortly after one of the biggest pandemics to hit Earth since the dinosaurs were wiped out: only 1% of humans on Earth were immune to the disease. Those left on Earth must face starvation, other diseases, lawlessness, rising dictators, religious fanatics, and many ethical decisions along the way. I will be writing this one slightly different from the others. Whenever the characters forage for food and supplies, I will use a random table to find out what they find. This will pose as a problem if they are looking for something specific, and they keep getting back rolls.
Memoirs of a Vampire will either be a novella or novel about a man who was cursed around 5500 B.C. and now retells what it was like living as a vampire for over 7,000 years.
A short story I plan to write will be about a man, Detective Zimmerman, who is getting along in his years. He is mostly the laughing stock of the department, and on his own time, he has been tracking down a serial killer. No one believes the murders are connected; some were ruled as suicides or accidents. For a serial killer, there does not seem to be an MO, but he thinks he's found the one thing that connects all of the victims.
A short story called "Displaced" is about a guy who finds himself in the past. Somehow even the little things he does changes the future, some for good, others for bad.
And finally a science fiction novel about the people from Atlantis who are finally coming home after being away for nearly 7,000 years. They come to warn humans that the same dangers they faced years ago is repeating itself today. The only problem is, their possible return could be viewed as a threat to our existence.
It is going to be a lot of writing to finish it all, but hopefully when it is done, they will be good enough to be published and sold. Also, all of the poetry I write is collected into a file and kept to be published in the future. So I my hope is that these previews will spark some interest in what I plan to write, and perhaps you will see these published one day.
